The Loft booking terms

We want you to feel at home here. These are the things that help us keep The Loft lovely for everyone who uses it.
Please check the photos below — this is how the space should be left after your booking.

1 Book the time you actually need

Your booking must cover set-up, your activity, tidying and pack-down. Please be completely packed up and out by your finish time. Arriving late doesn’t move that finish time.

Need longer? Ask us first. Extensions depend on availability and are booked in whole hours at an agreed price. Unagreed overruns may be charged proportionately at your booked hourly rate, plus reasonable additional costs caused by the delay. We’ll explain any charge.

2 Leave it as you found it

Creative chaos is welcome. Leaving it for the next person isn’t.

Put everything back, bin your rubbish and clean up spills before you leave. Bins and cleaning supplies are provided.

If the space is left untidy, we’ll issue a warning. If it happens again, we may refuse future bookings. Any extra cleaning beyond normal use may be charged at its reasonable actual cost.

3 Be gentle with the White Room

No stilettos, metal heels or metal-soled shoes. Lift furniture — never drag it.

The floor is delicate, so please give this space a little extra care.

4 Help yourself — then put it back

The chairs, tables, yoga equipment and beanbags in the store room are free to use. Return everything to where you found it before your booking ends.

The PA system and projector cost extra. Arrange these with the team before your visit.

5 Keep the music below 95 dB

We love a good event and want to keep them happening. Help us protect our relationship with the council and our neighbours by keeping within our licence conditions.

Luckily for us sound travels extremely well in The Loft so you don’t need to push the amp as much as you might think.

Keep music below 95 dB, follow any lower limits set for your booking and turn it down if our team asks.

6 Need a bar? Book with the team

Any booking needing a bar counts as an event and must be booked manually and confirmed by our team. We need to make sure staff are available and agree the fees, hours, capacity and any security arrangements for the Loading bay door.

All events need our approval before you book or advertise them. A standard studio booking doesn’t include a bar; alcohol sales must be arranged through our team under our premises licence.

7 Booking payment and changes

Payment is due in full upfront. Your slot is confirmed when payment is received and we send your booking confirmation.

Bookings/deposits are non refundable but they are transferable. Need to move it? Contact us at least 48 hours before your start time and we’ll agree another available slot and any price difference. With less notice, a transfer isn’t guaranteed.

If you cancel or miss your booking, we may keep enough to cover our actual net loss, up to the booking price. We will always make reasonable efforts to rebook you to another slot.

If we cancel for any reason, you can choose a refund for the affected booking or another available date. Any cancellation rights you have under consumer law still apply.

8 Accidents happen — tell us

Please report damage or breakages promptly, including anything already damaged when you arrive. Unsure how something works? Ask before using it.

We may charge reasonable repair or replacement costs for damage caused by your group’s carelessness, misuse or failure to follow agreed instructions. We’ll explain the cost first. Normal wear, existing damage and equipment faults your group didn’t cause aren’t charged.

9 Little guests and shared spaces

The Loft is usually unstaffed. Supervise children, keep pets under control and clean up after them.

Check the fire exits and safety instructions when you arrive, and report hazards promptly. Keep stairs, corridors and exits clear.

Keep access codes within your group, close coded doors securely after use and never prop fire doors open. Please be considerate of the other businesses in the building.

10 Parking and loading

Parking and the loading bay are shared, so spaces aren’t guaranteed. Park considerately and keep access routes clear.

Find the loading bay here.

Lock your vehicle and keep valuables out of sight. We aren’t responsible for theft or damage unless caused by our negligence or breach of contract.

11 Facilities and a helping hand

We’re upstairs, with no step-free or wheelchair access. Contact us before booking if you have access requirements.

Toilets are signposted on the same floor. There’s a fridge in the dressing room; take your food and drinks with you when you leave.

Penny Lane café is downstairs — check its opening hours directly. Petticoat Emporium staff may be able to help with directions during shop hours.

Questions, problems or complaints? Email info@theloftstudio.uk or WhatsApp 07534 748196.

12 Your rights

Your consumer rights still apply, and we remain responsible for providing our services with reasonable care and skill. We don’t exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything the law doesn’t allow us to exclude.

Thanks for looking after the space. Now go and make something EPIC!!
