Terms and conditions

1. Booking confirmation and payment terms

All bookings require full payment up front, all payments are non refundable but can be transferred to a different agreed time slot.

Transfers and changes must be done within 24 hours of your original time.

Any other time frame will be non refundable or exchangeable.

2. Booking times

Booking times are only the ones which are stated on the calender system. We offer by the hour appointments

Everything is booked by the hour.

If you require the space for 90minutes you will need to book for 2 hours for example.

3. Set up and Tear down

You will need to be in, set up and torn down within your specified time you have booked. If you need longer or run into the next hour then you will need to pay for that next hour.

4. Be respectful and cleaning

None of us would want to come in to a space we’ve paid for and hired to find that there is mess or has been left in an untidied state. Please be respectful and return the space how you found it.

There is a bin in the dressing room next to the fridge, please make use of it for your rubbish.

There is also cleaning bits incase of any spills.

Please use the bins provide and cleaning apparatus provided in case of any spills etc.

Most of the time, unless agreed for whatever reason, the site is unmanned so please be respectful of the person coming in next.

5. Children and minors

The site is unmanned and it is your responsibility for your own safety and the safety for any children or pets with you.

6. Noise

Although you are in a commercial building we do ask you to be respectful, we are aware that you might be using instruments or have music on but please be mindful and push past what we all know to be ‘too loud’.

7. Use of equipment

We kindly ask that you respect the equipment we offer for free and for rental.

We understand that accidents can happen and breakages can occur.

We ask that any breakages be reported to us immediately and we will discuss these on a case by case basis as you are responsible for any breakages on site.

Again please respect the items you are using you will not be the only ones using them.

8. Events

If you are hoping to hold an event in the loft with music and drinks you will require a Tens licence from Folkestone council.

We can help you with knowledge on this but each licence is your own responsibility and we will need proof prior to authorising access for the event.

9. Parking and loading

We are lucky that we have a great loading bay and parking for the space but this is shared parking we are not responsible for any damages or thefts to the vehicle or items inside. Please park considerably.

10. Walking around the building

As we are not the only ones in the building, please be aware of other around you and do not keep/prop open doors that you’ve been given codes to for too long or unmanned if possible. Coded and fire doors are meant to be left shut for security reasons. Remember there is a public shop/market below so be mindful of that please.

11. Toilets and Facilities

Unfortunately there is currently no wheelchair access to this floor.

There are toilets on the floor the same level to the door that you enter The Loft. You will see them sign posted before you enter or as you exit The Loft.

On the ground floor there is the lovely Penny Lane cafe serving food and drinks between 10am-4pm every day for any refreshments.

There is a fridge on the dressing room to keep drinks cold or for any food prep to be stored.

Any issues or concerns can be messaged to us directly via email: info@theloftstudio.uk, or if immediate need of help or assistance whilst in the space, you can chat with us using the ‘Ring door bell’, that you’ll find on the entrance way to the dressing-room.

There will also be staff downstairs at the tills in the Petticoat Emporium for any questions or directions.

Thank you, we appreciate that getting through that is a bit of a faff, but if we can keep this thing running smoothly then its better for all involved!
